Manchester Summer Tournament 2018

Registration Fee

The registration fee for the tournament is £100. To confirm your place in the tournament you must pay the registration fee by Sunday 3rd June otherwise your entry will be denied.

Tournament Format

24 teams with 6 teams in each group and the top 4 from each group progress to the knockout stages (please note this may be altered if we get more teams participating than anticipated). Goal difference is used if any teams finish level on points. If goal difference is identical then teams with most goals scored advance. If goals scored is identical then head to head record is used. If this was a draw teams can choose to play a replay or a coin toss to determine who advances.

The draw for the group stages will be made on Sunday 10th June and we will send you the fixtures and kick off times for your entire group stage games.

Prize Money

We are awarding £1000 to the winners of the tournament and £500 to the runners-up. Prize money is guaranteed as long as we get 24 teams participating. If we get less teams than this then prizes will be cut accordingly however this is very unlikely (last year we had 32 teams entered). Prize money winnings will be paid by bank transfer to your chosen bank account straight after the final.

Game Dates

These are the game dates and they can’t be moved or re-arranged under any circumstances. You are not allowed to postpone any games and must be available to play on the following dates:

  • Group Game 1 – Sunday 17th June
  • No Games On Sunday 24th June Due To The England World Cup Game
  • Group Game 2 – Sunday 1st July
  • Group Game 3 – Sunday 8th July
  • Group Game 4 – Sunday 15th July
  • Group Game 5 – Sunday 22nd July
  • Knockout Stage Last 16 – Sunday 29th July
  • Knockout Stage Quarter Final – Sunday 5th August
  • Knockout Stage Semi Final – Sunday 12th August
  • Final – Sunday 19th August

Please note if we get more teams than anticipated then the tournament may start one week earlier, be extended or mid-week evening games may be added. In the unlikely event games are postponed then they will be re-arranged for mid-week dates at the team’s convenience.

Insurance

The tournament is FA Affiliated & Sanctioned so you will receive a basic level of public liability insurance however this does not cover any football related injury. We therefore strongly recommend you ensure your team is covered accordingly. Total Football UK will not be held responsible for any football related injuries.

Match Fees

Match fees are £60 per game. This includes pitch, referee and changing room’s fees which we pay on your behalf.

In the past we have let teams pay in cash on the day but due to teams not turning up without letting us know it causes a huge amount of problems especially financially as we are still liable to pay for the pitch and referee so we cannot run the tournament like this anymore.

Match fees must be paid a minimum one week in advance for every game, so for example payment for your 1st game needs to be made by Sunday 10th June and payment for your 2nd game needs to be made by Sunday 24th June. If match fees aren’t paid by the deadlines then game will be awarded to the opposition team and you will be fined.

Payments must be made by cheque or bank transfer. If you are paying by cheque then the cheque must be cleared before you are allowed to play. We recommend you set up a standing order for £60 on the following dates for the group stage games, some banks don’t do standing orders on Sundays so we have chosen Fridays:

  • Friday 8th June (group stage game 1)
  • Friday 22nd June (group stage game 2)
  • Friday 29th June (group stage game 3)
  • Friday 6th July (group stage game 4)
  • Friday 13th July (group stage game 5)

If your team qualifies for the knockout stages then you make one-off payments for every game.

Game Rules

Official FA Football Association rules apply and each game is 90 minutes. ‘Rolling’ subs are permitted from a maximum of an 18 man match-day squad. All teams must bring two suitable match balls.

10 minutes extra time to be played if knockout stage games finish level and then penalties.

Discipline

Yellow card: £10 fine

Red card: £30 fine

*Fines must be paid within 7 days otherwise you could face a player ban, team ban, deduction of points or expulsion. Fines to be paid by bank transfer or cheque.

3 yellow cards in the group stages = 1 match ban

Red card at any time = 3 match ban

The Final

The final of the tournament will be played at Hyde Utd FC at their stadium. The final will also be professionally filmed and videos will be uploaded to our YouTube Channel and social media accounts a few days later. All venues have changing rooms available.

Respect

Please respect match officials at all times and remember this tournament couldn’t take place without them. They may make a mistake from time to time but so might you. If we receive any complaints from referees regarding abuse of any kind then you could have players banned or face expulsion from the league. All misconduct will be reported to the Manchester FA and they could enforce player or team bans upon you for your Saturday/Sunday leagues.

Terms & Conditions

By signing these terms and conditions I understand I am entering into a contract with Total Football UK who are the tournament organisers.

I am signing these terms and conditions on behalf of the team named below to be the ‘Chairman’ of the team and I will be held personally liable for any monies owed if any tournament rules are broken, fines are not paid or match fees are not paid.

I have read and understand the tournament rules and format. I understand my team must attend all games on the dates I have been given. I understand that if I cancel a game or fail to turn up for a game then my team will receive a fine.

I understand that Total Football UK will not be held responsible for any injuries and it is my responsibility to acquire insurance cover.
